Specific chiropractic care is chiropractic care that is specified to you. Your adjustment should be different from other peoples’ and should eventually be a little different each time. We determine exactly WHICH segments need to be adjusted. We also determine HOW they went out of alignment in terms of direction. Finally, and most importantly, we determine which segments are IN alignment so that we leave them in good position. The worst thing possible would be to manipulate a segment that is in good working order and in alignment as that would put that segment out of alignment. If it’s ‘in’, the only place it can go is ‘out’.
We use thermographic scans to tell if we need to adjust the top bones (atlas and axis). We then use postural analysis and neurological/orthopedic testing to determine how to adjust the top bones. We absolutely need to get the top adjusted using a three directional, torqued adjustment- as this bone sits in a bevel. This makes for the longest, lasting adjustment possible at atlas or axis. This is crucial, as the top bone being in alignment will make the other chiropractic more permanent so that you can come less and less.
We then adjust the rest of the spine as needed in an order that supports permanence of results. We pride ourselves in getting our chiropractic patients to not need it anymore or to reduce frequency of visits down faster than they have experienced at other chiropractors. Thermographic scans and detailed analysis allow us to apply this level of care.
We also will check and, if needed, adjust extremities such as the shoulders, elbows, wrists, feet, knees, hips, and jaw. This is a type of chiropractic that isn’t guaranteed to be known by every chiropractor.
